Clauncher features a conversation with Corphish, and Ash inevitably deduces that Clauncher wants him and Misty to battle in order to make a decision which ones will get to catch him, which Clauncher confirms with a nod. Misty happily accepts this, but ahead of the struggle can even begin, Clauncher is caught in Group Rocket's personal fishing line.
